THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAIL: ELEVATING HIGHLAND SPRING CONTENT WITH VFX
The Hidden VFX
When we think of VFX or CGI, we often think about blockbuster movies filled with massive explosions and larger-than-life superheroes. However, visual effects play a vital role in a wide range of content, yet often go unnoticed. At Sunshine, we seamlessly integrate VFX into our projects for various reasons - whether it’s cleaning up footage, creating dynamic transitions, or even compositing a 3D billboard on to real footage.
In our latest batch of videos for Highland Spring, we employed several VFX techniques to make our content truly stand out.
Aligning with Brand Colours
Consistency is key in branding, and this extends to our video work. While it’s not always feasible to source props and costumes in the exact brand colours, we can adjust them in post-production. In one of our videos, we transformed a blue lamp and phone case into the brand’s signature purple using colour selection and masks that track the objects. This subtle adjustment helps maintain the brand’s visual identity.
Birds and Bees
To highlight Highland Spring as the perfect natural escape, we wanted to transport viewers to the serene Ochil Hills, where the water is sourced. To bring the nature to life, we added some of the local inhabitants to each video - a bird, a bee, and a butterfly in this particular video. It was added by using real footage of a butterfly, isolating it and compositing it on to our footage, animating the path it takes as well as colour matching it and adding some subtle motion blur. There is also one more hidden creature, see if you can spot it.
Custom Numberplate
We believe that little details can elevate content from good to great. For instance in this video, we customised the car’s number plate to read “WA73R” - a nod to our client. And it was just a case of creating a numberplate graphic, tracking it to the original numberplate, colour matching and masking out the person's legs that pass in front of it.
The Importance of Details
So why do we add these details when the concepts work just fine without them? It might be because it creates a more cohesive social media grid, it sells the ideas more effectively and creates eye-popping content... But it doesn’t stop there. We believe your brand’s social content deserves the same level of craft as any other communication you put out into the world - because every post is an opportunity to leave a lasting impression.
